Ottawa native Rohan Chopra has been officially selected to the Canadian field hockey team for the Junior Men’s World Cup Dec. 8-18 in Lucknow, India.

The Nepean Nighthawks product helped Canada to a silver medal and World Cup qualification this past summer at the Junior Pan American Championship in Toronto.
With his family a force behind the sport’s presence in Ottawa, Chopra will return to his grandparents’ homeland for the tournament and play in front of what is expected to be a massive crowd for the Canadians’ opening match against host India Dec. 8.
England and South Africa are also in underdog Canada’s preliminary pool.
