New Pumphouse clubhouse coming alongside 2017 whitewater nationals

Made possible thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Ottawa River Runners held the official groundbreaking in October for the clubhouse and storage facility to be built alongside the Pumphouse whitewater canoe-kayak course on the eastern edge of Lebreton Flats.

“This has been a personal dream for what seems like forever,” River Runners club president Doug Corkery says in a news release. “I am really excited to imagine that next year we will have a club building for all of our activities, our summer camps, our competitive programs and especially for our National Whitewater Championships (to be be held Aug. 5-6, 2017 at the Pumphouse).”
