2 local athletes medal at Toronto 2017 Invictus Games

dupuis_web_crop.jpgA pair of Ottawa athletes brought home medals from the Invictus Games held in Toronto from Sept. 23-30.

Gatineau’s Natacha Dupuis, one of Team Canada’s captains at the Games, won three gold medals. She came in 1st place in the 100-metre, 200 m, and 400 m races.

Ottawa’s Caroline Cauvin won two bronze medals in indoor rowing for Canada. She placed 3rd in the women’s IR5 four-minute endurance race and the IR5 one-minute sprint.

Other competitors from Ottawa included Adam Jones, Geoff De Melo, Michael Fuentespina, Scott Atkinson and Suzanne Barrette.

The Invictus Games are an international athletic competition for injured or ill members of the armed forces.
