Ottawa Swans players Rebecca Gomez (left) and Vivian Nguyen helped Canada’s national women’s team to a silver medal at the Aug. 5-19 Australian Football League International Cup in Melbourne.
Canada beat Fiji, Pakistan, Great Britain and USA to reach the final, where they fell to Ireland 25-21.
The tournament, which cannot include Australian or ex-pat players on any teams, seeks to build Australian football’s global presence.
