On the heels of national and Jeux de la Francophonie silver medals, Rio 2016 Olympian Sekou Kaba had the top result out of almost 2 dozen local athletes who competed for Team Canada at the 2017 FISU world student games in Taiwan.

The University of Ottawa grad placed 7th in the men’s 110-metre hurdles in a time of 13.87 seconds.

Former uOttawa teammates Catherine Traer and Kellie Ring (who moved on to Carleton and Ryerson respectively to close their university careers) matched Kaba’s 7th-place result in the women’s basketball competition.
