ORC150A tad older than Canada itself, the Ottawa Rowing Club marked its 150th anniversary on June 17 with an hour-long row past some of Canada’s most historic places along the Ottawa River.

The “Kitchissippi Flotilla” saw 150 ORC members of all ages and levels row every class of boat available in the sport, with only one crew capsizing (and no injuries or dampened spirits reported).

Following a welcome back onshore by Algonquin elder Annie Smith, the ORC officially christened the newest addition to its fleet, an 8+ boat to be raced by Team Ontario at the Canada Summer Games.
