Ottawa official Laura Knowles was inducted into Ringette Canada’s Hall of Fame in September, recognizing her contributions spanning 30+ years.

Very involved in the development of the rules of ringette and high-performance officials, Knowles has refereed and served as director of officials at the Canadian and World Championships, and has filled many board positions for ringette organizations across the country.

“Being inducted into the Ringette Canada Hall of Fame is truly an honour and I am thrilled to be inducted alongside some great people that have done so much for our sport,” Knowles said in a Ringette Canada media release. “To join the ranks of the other officials in the Hall of Fame, many with whom I officiated with over the years, is amazing and humbling.”

The 2012 U19 world-champion team featuring Nepean player Jennifer Gabel and Ottawa athletic therapist Brigitte Roy was also inducted.
