Cassidy’s Spectacular Peachtree Victory in Rain After Chaotic Week

Canadian 10K champion Josh Cassidy won the 44th Shepherd Center Wheelchair Division of the AJC Peachtree Road Race on July 4, 15 seconds ahead of second-place Josh George of the USA. Despite a chaotic week with travel delays and lost equipment, Cassidy managed to piece together an old racing chair and compete. Cassidy finished with a time of 21:26, with Joshua George finishing at 21:41, and Krige Shabort at 21:50. Cassidy’s next big races are at the World Championships in Lyon, France, starting July 20.
