It’s the kids’ camps that double as summer vacation for parents.
Lunches, snacks, pre- and post-camp care are all included with registration at TMSI Camps, and here’s one more extra bonus: campers spend all day expending energy while playing a pile of sports.

“We’ve made it very accommodating for families,” notes Abby McCorriston, Executive Director of TMSI Camps. “We know that parents don’t like packing lunches after doing it all year for school, so having food provided is really popular.
“But it also fits into our philosophy that we want to make sure every camper feels at home when they’re here.”
Most camp staff are studying to be teachers or childhood educators, which helps ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
“I hate to brag, but I also love to brag about them – I have the best team,” McCorriston underlines. “They’re passionate, they’re energetic and they’re excited to be there. It makes a big difference when your team loves what they do.”
The TMSI Camps lineup has grown to five this season – there is the original Thunderbird Multi Sport Camp, the Thunderbird Golf Academy returns for a second season, this year’s Amberwood Sports Camp sold out in record-breaking fashion, the young Superdome at Ben Franklin Park Sports Camp continues to grow and the eQuinelle Summer Activity & Sports Camp is an exciting new addition.

The eQuinelle camps will replicate the “one-stop shop” model that’s made TMSI camps so popular in Ottawa’s west end.

The new eQuinelle Pavilion will soon open to act as a junior clubhouse and summer camp headquarters for lunch and crafts. Pickleball will be played on eQuinelle’s outdoor courts, along with sports such as ultimate frisbee, water games and plenty more camp favourites with some new ones.
Campers may visit the golf range as well, while a golf add-on option is available for participants who are keen to experience more time on the links and receive professional instruction.
“eQuinelle is such a beautiful place,” McCorriston highlights. “We are very excited to launch the eQuinelle Activity and Summer Sports Camp for the entire Kemptville community.”

Now in her sixth as year camps director, McCorriston went to TMSI Camps herself from a young age, and then became a volunteer and a counsellor before taking the helm.
“I’m very passionate about recreation,” signals the graduate of Carleton University communications/sociology and University of Liverpool sports business management masters programs.
“I believe sports are super important to our mental health, to our bodies and minds, and it’s very important to encourage that from a young age,” adds the former competitive equestrian show jumper. “The social side of it is huge too. We teach our campers how to make friends for a lifetime, and the value of these long lasting friendships.”
