The Myers Riders (in photo) squeezed past the Nepean Eagles 20-12 to complete a perfect season and win the National Capital Amateur Football Association’s Peewee title on Nov. 3 at Nepean Sportsplex’s Minto Field.

Alongside the Kanata/West Ottawa Knights, the Myers Riders were one of two associations to win a pair of A-Cup titles on NCAFA’s championship weekend. The Riders also won the Bantam crown 28-3 over the Cumberland Panthers to avenge the only defeat of their season.

The undefeated Knights slipped by the Panthers 30-24 for the Mosquito title, and also completed a dominant unbeaten Midget run with a 38-7 victory over the Bel-Air Lions.

The Bell Warriors earned the Mosquito 9v9 trophy with a 32-27 victory over Bel-Air, while Cornwall beat Cumberland 64-8 for the Tyke championship.

The Mosquito and Midget Knights then went on to win inter-provincial bowl series crowns with victories over challengers from the Montreal area on Nov. 10 at TD Place stadium.
