
Two Ottawa natives were named as U Sports First-Team All-Canadians in women’s soccer. Queen’s Golden Gaels’ 5th year forward Laura Callender, formerly of the Ottawa Fury, was joined by 3rd year Cape Breton Capers’ midfielder Ciera Disipio. Callender was also named the OUA East’s player of the year. University of Ottawa’s Katerine Delev, of Chelsea, Que. was named the the U Sports All-Rookie Team, while Gee-Gees 3rd year midfielder Katherine Bearne, from Halifax, N.S. was named a 2nd Team All-Canadian. Another 4 Gee-Gees and 2 players from Carleton were named as OUA East All-Stars. Joining Callender, and Bearne as OUA East All-Stars were Ottawa’s Miranda Smith (Ottawa), Kayla DaCosta-Pacheco (Gatineau) and Cooper Lee (Toronto). Joining Delev on the 2nd Team OUA East All-Stars were Ottawa’s Margot Shore (Ottawa), and Carleton’s Melat Cherent (Ottawa) and Emily Copeland (Ottawa).
