Team Canada rugby sevens player earns silver at home event

Former University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women’s rugby captain Natasha Watcham-Roy earned a silver medal with Team Canada on home soil at the May 26-28 World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series in Langford, B.C.

Watcham-Roy scored a try to help Canada conclude its perfect round robin with a win over Russia. The Canadians beat England and Australia in the playoff round before falling to New Zealand in the final.

Canada is tied for 2nd in this season’s Series standings with one tournament left to play.
