The sibling duo of Wynne and Kinley Gee came home with gold and silver medals respectively from the July 31-Aug. 6 World Junior Ultimate Championships in Poland.
Wynne scored 5 assists and 3 goals in 10 games as her Canadian women’s team beat Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Austria, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Columbia and won on universal point 15-14 over USA in the tournament final.
Kinley was the #3 leading scorer for the Canadian open team with 13 assists and 5 goals in 8 games. No Team Canada opponent hit double-digits in the team’s seven straight victories to reach the final, where they fell 15-11 to take silver behind USA.
At the Aug. 18-21 Canadian Ultimate Championships in Hamilton, Local 613 were the mixed division bronze medallists.
