Race Weekend podium & Canadian 10k title for Ottawa-trained runner

University of Ottawa grad Lanni Marchant finished 3rd in the Ottawa Race Weekend 10 km event on May 23.

Marchant’s time of 31 minutes 49 seconds gave her a 10-second gap over the next-best Canadian to earn the title of national champion.

The London, Ont. native spent a good chunk of her winter training at the Louis-Riel Dome in preparation for the race and her upcoming season, which should include the Pan Am Games marathon and hopefully an IAAF World Championships appearance on the track for the 10,000 m.
