MacFadyen brothers place 7th at sambo worlds

Ottawa’s Torin and Adam MacFadyen drew the eventual world silver and gold medalists in their respective first matches of the men’s 52 and 57 kg categories at the Nov. 20-24 World Sambo Championships in Japan, each losing those bouts.

Torin lost his repechage contest, while Adam won his first contest in the repechage before bowing out. Amongst the youngest competitors in the senior-level event, both recorded seventh-place finishes.
