About: Merivale High School’s Joletta Cheung brought home a bronze medal from the May 1-3 OFSAA provincial high school badminton championships in Markham. Competing in girls’ singles, the national capital silver medalist won her first three matches to reach the ‘A’ flight semi-final before falling to the eventual champion, but then rebounded for a victory in her next match en route to bronze. It was Cheung’s second OFSAA medal in as many appearances, having earned gold last year in mixed doubles.
