World U18 bronze victory for Ottawa-born goalie & 67’s star

Ottawa native Brent Moran and Travis Konecny of the Ottawa 67’s won bronze medals with Team Canada at the April 17-27 IIHF men’s under-18 world hockey championships in Finland.

Canada went 3-0-1 in the round robin, Konecny scored the game-winner with 30 seconds left in a 3-2 quarter-final victory over Switzerland, lost its semi-final 4-3 to Czech Republic, and beat Sweden 3-1 for bronze.

Moran, a Niagara Ice Dog, was Canada’s third goaltender at the event.
