Baseball Day is a unique collaborative effort on behalf of the entire baseball community, including Little League Associations from Pembroke, Kemptville, West Ottawa, Glebe, South Ottawa as well as the adult National Capital Baseball League, members of the Ligue de baseball de l’Outaouais, the new CAN-AM team scheduled to begin play in 2015, and the local business community.
Led by the Ottawa Royals and Knights Baseball Club, the event is designed to encourage youth participation in sport and kick off the spring baseball season while providing exposure to the game.
Event supports charities
We are also taking advantage of the large audience for the day and using it as a fundraiser for the Fergie Jenkins Foundation and the Miracle League of Ottawa.
We will be offering free youth clinics in the morning for approximately 300 children, and in the afternoon we anticipate 2,000-4,000 people to watch a doubleheader baseball game featuring the 18U AA Ottawa Knights versus the AA l’Attak de Gatineau, and the Elite 18U Knights versus the Carleton Russell Aces – Big League team of similar age players for the second game.
Additionally, there will be interactive and static displays on the concourse level sponsored by and featuring local sporting goods retailer Lacroix Sports and representatives from the largest baseball manufacturers, including SAM BAT Fall League, Mizuno, Rawlings and EvoShield to name a few.

- Free Morning Instructional Clinics for players from 7 to 15 years of age.
- Lacroix Sports Exhibit Power Alley in Stadium Concourse with exhibits from SAM BAT Fall League, Mizuno, Rawlings, EvoShield, Easton and more
- DH Baseball Game starting at 12:30 – Tickets $5.00 each with proceeds to Fergie Jenkins Foundation and Miracle League of Ottawa
- BBQ area confirmed concession sales starting at 10am – 5pm
- 50/50 and Raffle draws for unique baseball memorabilia
- NCCP coaching clinics on the Friday evening and Sunday (via ORKBC/Baseball Ontario / Baseball Canada)
- Media coverage and sponsorship from Ottawa Sportspage, local TV and Radio
