The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees women’s soccer team wrapped up an undefeated season against Ontario opponents with a 1-0 championship victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks on their home field Sunday, Nov. 4.
The defending CIS national bronze medalists will now go for gold Nov. 8-11 in Victoria.
Setup by Krista Draycott’s soaring pass, Ottawa’s Pilar Khoury celebrated the OUA championship-winning goal in extra time. The former Gloucester Hornet set a new Gee-Gees single-season scoring record this year with 13 goals.
Joey Kewin played the hero’s role as the silver medalist Carleton Ravens men’s soccer team also earned a trip to the national championships on the strength of a 1-0 OUA semi-final victory over host York.
