Tumblers athletes move closer to provincial qualification

It was a good weekend in Oshawa for the young athletes of the Tumblers Gymnastics Centre from Orleans. Ten girls competed over two days at their 2nd of three Provincial Qualifiers in women’s artistic gymnastics.

In level 6, Age 10, Falia Pantieras took the Gold medal on Vault and Bars and tied for bronze on the floor to place 2nd all around.

Sabrina Groleau took the silver medal All Around in the Level 7 Age 11 category with a silver on Bars and bronze on Beam and bronze on Floor. In the same category, Sophie Paquin took 5th All Around with a gold medal on Bars and a Gold on Floor, while Caroline Poirier took a silver on Vault and a silver on Floor.

In the Level 8 category, Beth Webster caught the attention of many in the crowd with some dynamic routines on all events. She took the silver medal for All Around and was second on Beam.

“It was a good weekend for the girls,” said coach and Women’s Program Manager, Alina Florea. “We tried not to execute but perform the routines. We will work to perfect the performances with each step along the way as we get ready for our final qualifier and Provincial Championships.”

In the Level 5 Category, Age 11, Kylie Kamal finished the weekend for the club with a personal best, taking 4th all around and a bronze medal on bars. In Level 5, age 10, Brooklyn Clow took a silver medal on Bars and a bronze on Beam, placing 7th all around while her teammate Jillian Van Every took a bronze on Bars and was tied for 6th all around. In Level 6, Age 11, Chelsea Gauthier took a bronze on Bars and in Level 6, age 13, Makiya Plant also took a bronze on Bars.
