Carleton University’s Department of Recreation and Athletics is pleased to welcome two new coaches to the Ravens family for the 2011-12 season.
Andrew Donaldson will take over head coaching duties for the men’s golf team, while Ed Fournier will coach Carleton’s rowing program.
The head professional at The Marshes Golf Club, Donaldson is a Class A member of the CPGA and a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified golf fitness instructor. His experience also includes acting as the associate professional at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club along with assistant placements at Ashburn Golf Club and the Toronto Board of Trade Country Club.
Fournier has been involved in the sport of rowing for over 25 years. During his competitive career, he won several provincial and national titles in single, double, and quad events. Fournier began coaching with the junior men’s development program at the Ottawa Rowing Club in 2007 before coaching the junior men’s competitive program a year later. Since then, five of his athletes earned positions with the Canadian team that competed at the FISU World University Games.
Both teams will compete in invitational events leading up to the OUA championships – October 16-18 at Queen’s University for golf and Oct. 29 at Brock University for rowing.
