Prince-less 67’s fire six goals past Kingston

By Dan Plouffe

The Ottawa 67’s were without top-scoring forward Shane Prince, but that didn’t hold them back from an offensive outburst as they notched six goals against Kingston yesterday afternoon. File photo.

Five different players scored for the Ottawa 67’s yesterday afternoon as the OHL club got off to a 2-0 start with a 6-2 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs at the J. Benson Cartage Centre.

Without sniper Shane Prince in the lineup due to a shoulder injury suffered in Friday’s 2-1 win over Belleville, Sean Monahan stepped into the lead offensive role with two goals and an assist on Sunday.

Marc Zanetti, Remy Giftopoulos, Tyler Graovac, and Brett Gustavsen scored the other goals for Ottawa, while Steven Janes and Cody Ceci each had a pair of assists.

The 67’s will make their first road trip of the season next weekend as they travel to Plymouth, Saginaw, and Windsor from Friday to Sunday.
