The Rachel Homan Ottawa Curling Club rink advanced directly to the best-of-three final series at the 2025 Montana’s Canadian Curling Trials to determine Canada’s representatives for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.

Team Homan prevailed 7-6 over Kerri Einarson this afternoon in Halifax to finish the round robin with a 6-1 record to match Einarson atop the standings, but earn the direct berth to the final thanks to their head-to-head win.

Both skips had uncharacteristic struggles at times in the high-stakes matchup and finished with the lowest percentages on their teams – Einarson at 66 and Homan at 80. Ottawa’s Emma Miskew was tops for Team Homan at 96.

“That was our goal at the beginning of the week,” Homan said Curling Canada of qualifying directly to the final. “The field is so tough that we needed everything today to make it to that final and I’m really proud of the girls for battling through.

“(It’s) huge; there’s no other way to say it. It’s a big game for us to get into the final and get a bit of rest tomorrow, get on the ice for a bit and then more of the same looking forward to the weekend.”

Team Homan will face the winner of Thursday’s semi-final between Einarson and Christina Black. The matches of the championship series are all scheduled for noon ET on Friday, Saturday and (if necessary) Sunday.
