The Algonquin Thunder women’s soccer team reaffirmed their position as the best team in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association, winning their third straight OCAA championship in late October. The team’s dominance is best illustrated by the 62-2 goal difference that they held against opponents in regular season play. The team later won bronze at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association national championship. Their lone loss at the national championships was 1-0 in penalty kicks to the eventual silver-medallists, the Champlain Saint-Lambert Cavaliers. The Algonquin Thunder men’s soccer team left the OCAA championships with silver medals after being defeated by Durham College in the OCAA championship match. Their 2nd place finish in the province was good enough to qualify them for a bid at the CCAA championships. They placed 7th at the national championships.
