Ottawa Sports Pages 10th Anniversary Celebrations

We are looking forward to hosting you for the Ottawa Sports Pages 10th Anniversary Celebrations!

Saturday, October 16th
Noon to 1:45 p.m.
Rideau Sports Centre
1 Donald St.

Free parking available in RSC lots and on-street. Event kicks off in RSC outdoor ball hockey rinks (south side of Donald St.)

Listen for some great music played by our event host Tim Morgan from Boom 99.7 FM if you need help locating us!

We’ll greet you at the gate to the ball hockey area and give you a welcome package, including:
– Your free lunch ticket (BBQ hamburger, hotdog or sausage & pop or water)
– “Hockey cards” that you can get signed by Paralympians Patrice Dagenais & Brianna Hennessy
– Your scorecard/draw entry ballot for the 10 fun sports challenges
– Infosheet on Ottawa Sports Pages 10th Anniversary

Try our sports challenges and win a $50 Kunstadt Sports gift card

Try each of our 10 sports activities (to mark 10 years naturally) and you’ll be entered into our draw for 2 gift cards to Kunstadt Sports, which you can use at any of their four stores in Ottawa/Chelsea.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a great athlete to do these – we’ll warm up with bean bag toss, up the ante a touch for fencing and soccer, and build towards the grand finale: wheelchair rugby!

That’s the sport played by our Paralympic stars Patrice and Brianna (Brianna paddles too), so you’ll get a chance to meet them at the finish.

Pack your umbrella/raincoat

We’re happy to see the temperature should be alright, but rain is in the forecast. We’re shifting some plans in hopes of keeping you comfortable.

Tents will be setup and can provide cover while we’re outside. We’ll wrap up the sports challenges at 12:45 p.m. and then move the show indoors.

Find us inside RSC’s restaurant from 1-1:45 p.m.

Come on over across the other side of Donald St. for the formal part of our festivities at The Bridge Public Restaurant inside the main building at Rideau Sports Centre.

That’ll start at 1 p.m., giving you some time to complete COVID screening (masks and proof of vaccination are required to enter the facility).

We’ll have several speakers and will make a fundraising announcement alongside the Ottawa Community Foundation, and finish with keynotes by Patrice Dagenais and Brianna Hennessy, who will be sharing the story behind their journeys to reach the Paralympics.

We plan to livestream this part of the event on our Facebook page (and record it so you can watch later too) starting around 1 p.m..

We’re very excited to have you join us as we mark this big milestone – thank you and see you soon!

This is a free event open to the public. Please RSVP below:
